MARCASITE (via Wikipedia)
In marcasite jewellery, pyrite used as a gemstone is termed "marcasite". That is, marcasite jewellery is made from pyrite not from marcasite. In the late medieval and early modern eras the word "marcasite" meant both pyrite and marcasite (and iron sulfides in general)
MARQUETRY (via Wikipedia)
Marquetry (also spelled as marqueterie) is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures. The technique may be applied to case furniture or even seat furniture, to decorative small objects with smooth, veneerable surfaces.

SHABBY CHIC
A trend in interiors which refers to a form of old or new items which are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. There are degrees of wear but primarily shabby. Paint visibly worn, metal rusted.
SHALVAGE CHIC
A finish which refers to an extreme form of distressing to achieve a salvaged appearance. Paint is visibly worn or metal rusted. The item will also have glamorous connotations. A contrasting trend

Utility Clothing was introduced towards the end of 1941 by the British government. Raw materials (cloth, wool, leather etc.) were in short supply and had to be conserved. Manufactures needed to become more efficient in their working practices Clothing prices (which were increasing) needed to be kept down so that the civilian population could afford clothing of a reasonable quality.
